Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic death has lead everyone to look into the seriousness of mental health issues and the consequences attached to it. The actor who had a bright future ahead of him but none of it could save him from the battle he was fighting everyday. He succumbed to his inner demons. The sorrowful end that Sushant faced has lead the entire nation to closely introspect and reach out to anyone who may or may not be directly showing signs of depression. While several actors and industry folks said that they didn’t see this coming as he was always smiling, producer Mukesh Bhatt has a different tale to tell.
Mukesh Bhatt spoke to a news channel and confessed that he saw something amiss about Sushant when he met him last. In an interview he says that he met the actor for Sadak 2 discussions and saw that there was not something bothering him. "To be honest with you, I saw it coming. I had met Rajput on a number of occasions. The first time I met him was in 2012 when he had come to our office to meet me for Ashiqui 2.”
However when he met him again for Sadak 2, he saw a change and even says that he came across as a disturbed soul, “He was a very disturbed soul. There was something about him I felt which wasn't connected. And that bothered me more than anything else.” He further adds that he saw him going the Parveen Babi way, "He was a very disturbed boy. He was not there, while talking to me, I felt that he was not on the same plain. There was something amiss, something wrong.”
While Sushant has left many questions unanswered, one thing is sure that the actor convinced the world he was fine with his smile and his craft. We remember the actor and keep him in our prayers.
